Bottle Description

Wolfburn's Kylver Series is named after a burial stone that features one of the earliest examples of the Viking runic alphabet and reflects the history of Caithness.

The series showcases some of Wolfburn's most special expressions and each release is named after the Old Norse alphabet.

Kylver No.2 was released in May 2017 and has been matured in a combination of bourbon and second fill Oloroso sherry casks.

Distillery Information
Destillery logo

Wolfburn was established in 1821 and is situated in Thurso, on Scotland’s rugged north coast, it has become the largest distillery in Caithness.

Ceasing production in 1850s, Wolfburn's new distillery was given the go-ahead in 2012 and is just a short walk along the burn from the old site. With production commencing in 2013, their inaugural expression was released in February 2016.

They continue to make their whisky the same way it was always made: by hand, using only the finest ingredients, and without haste. Wolfburn's whisky is distilled, matured and bottled on-site.
