In 1892 work began to convert an 18th-century mansion, Balvenie New House, into a distillery. The building took fifteen months to complete and on 1 May 1893, the first distillation took place at Balvenie Distillery.

Balvenie's Malt Master, David Stewart MBE, is one of the industry's most experienced experts and began working with William Grant & Sons in 1962. He received an MBE from Queen Elizabeth II on the 5th of July 2016 for his services to the Scotch Whisky Industry.

Important Notice

All items are carefully inspected and any marks or damage are noted within the lot description. We do however strongly recommend that you undertake a thorough close-up inspection prior to placing any bids. If you are not satisfied with the information shown and would like more details, please contact us on [email protected] and our team will be happy to help. It is also important to note that lots will be sold as seen and described.

It is important to note that should an outer box be provided, it will be photographed and shown regardless of the condition. If there is not an image of an outer box, this means it is absent and will not be provided.

All lots can have insurance against breakage or loss during transit added at an additional cost. This is available to add at the checkout at a cost of 4% of the hammer price. Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of the liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
