Bottle Description

This release celebrates the distillery's legacy, combining whisky drawn from those surviving casks, distilled before Bruichladdich's renaissance. Matured entirely in bourbon casks, 50% spent its full term in refill hogsheads with the other 50% re-casked from refills into freshies after 20 years. After vatting, the whisky married for a further three months in refill bourbon barrels before it was bottled at 43% ABV.

Bruichladdich has also taken the opportunity to unveil its exceedingly slick and sustainable new bottle design. The bottle is made from an average of 60% recycled glass and the outer packaging is a bespoke design that's a first in the whisky world, made from fully recyclable paper pulp, molded to the shape of the bottle.

Bruichladdich was built in 1881 on the shore of Loch Indaal, on the Rinns of Islay, which is the westernmost part of the island. The distillery now has three product lines; Bruichladdich which is unpeated, heavily peated Port Charlotte and ultra-heavily peated Octomore.

It is also important to note that lots will be sold as seen and described.

It is important to note that should an outer box be provided, it will be photographed and shown regardless of the condition. If there is not an image of an outer box, this means it is absent and will not be provided.

All lots can have insurance against breakage or loss during transit added at an additional cost. This is available to add at the checkout at a cost of 4% of the hammer price. Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of the liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
