Bottle Description

This distillery exclusive was launched at their Fèis Ìle open day on 27th May 2018, it is a marriage of the last 5 casks filled during the first year of Bruichladdich's Port Charlotte production in 2001, hence the name 'The Last of the First'.

The casks which have been used had previously held American whiskey, rum and fine French wine, all five casks were selected by Bruichladdich's Master Distiller, Adam Hannett.

Located in the small village of Port Charlotte, the distillery was founded in 1829.

After being bought by The Bruichladdich Distillery Co. Ltd, 2 miles from Port Charlotte, the brand has been revived, although the distillery as such remained closed.

All lots can have insurance against breakage or loss during transit added at an additional cost. This is available to add at the checkout at a cost of 4% of the hammer price. Due to the various ages of bottles and their seals, condition of the liquid is at the buyer's discretion and no claim can be lodged against leakage in transit.
